HISTORY
“Locked in Love” embraces the power of connection inviting family, friends and loved ones to lock their love as a symbolic public display of affection on a new heart-shaped pergola sculpture located on the scenic River Trail in Putnam, CT. Inspired by an ancient custom, where lovers lock their love on a fence or gate and then throw away the key representing eternal love.
This new display intends to go beyond just the romantic connection and preserve the stories of loved ones near and far, bringing hope and that which unites us all: Love.
Made of Cor-Ten weathering steel, this 11’ x 8’ x 8’ piece compliments the pre-existing sculptures throughout Putnam with an interactive community twist and will act as a fundraiser for Quiet Corner Cares. QCC is a 501c3 organization.
The Town of Putnam, the Putnam Arts Council and Quiet Corner Cares would like to invite you to capture a moment in time and lock it in everlasting love for all to admire.

Unbreakable love goes beyond just a romantic partnership. Families are encouraged to lock their love for a lifetime and embrace a tradition of memories.
Locks
Each lock will come personally engraved with a special message. Up to 75 characters allowed. From names, to lines from a poem or secret messages, there are countless ways to get creative when you decide to lock your love.
